I am sure, Bill, who posted the joke, did not mean to offend anyone. Peter
is 100% correct in protesting and Bill should realize that a joke can be
ill-timed, ill-place or simply, in this case, a non-starter. This whole
business reminds me of the jokes I have heard in Hungary at the
Microszinpad theatre at the expense of the Romanian people; I was offended
while most people had a good laugh. Jokes are serious matters at times.

Does this mean I'm your John the Baptist? And no complaining that this is
not a Hungarian topic, Joe -- you're the one who started this thread. And
given the shortage of available palinka in the liquor stores here in the
Raleigh area, I am currently accepting all donations of that fine liquid.
Just hand it over and no one gets hurt.

Alpe Adria Cinema, an international film festival focusing on meetings
with Central and Eastern European cinema and video, is organizing for the
current edition (17-21 January 1996) an Internet meeting between
cybercafe's and public access spaces to discuss and exchange ideas across
the different countries. This social event will take place using IRC
and/or CUSeeMe technologies, and will allow people from the different
countries to talk and exchange comments about European culture in a very
informal and new way.
We would be very happy to know if you have any contact with cybercafe's
and other public places which could join this event.
>From Jan, 10, a web site (http://www4.iol.it/aac) will present the event
and the program of the festival.
We need to know if your place can be one of the partners in this event,
allowing people to connect to Alpe Adria Cinema channels from 18.00 to
20.00 p.m. for the 5 days of the events.
Since we are now defining the list of partners, we would be extremely glad
to receive AS SOON AS POSSIBLE your acceptance by e-mail of this proposal,
so we can include your name in the program.

Is this the same deity I've seen spelled 'Baal'?
And where could I find more history about the king(s) Be'la?
I tend to worship natural deities myself, so I don't see this as negative...
