I. letfa Concert & Tnchz - May 1 (Sat) 7:00 PM

letfa (Tree of Life), one of the leading Hungarian folk music bands in
North America will perform at the Conference Center at Cherry Hill Park,
9800 Cherry Hill Rd., College Park, MD at 7:00 p.m.  From I-495 take exit
25 to Rt.1 (Baltimore Ave.) south.  Make 1st right onto Cherry Hill Rd. 
Go 1 mile and turn left into Cherry Hill Park.  Tickets $10. 

Schedule:

7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. concert & dance demonstrations
8:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. tnchz including dance teachings at all levels; no
dance partners required; please bring your kids, too.

About the letfa Hungarian Folk Music Group:

Based in New York City, letfa is one of the leading Hungarian folk music
groups in North America. Formed in 1987, they are the first group rooted
in the Hungarian-American community that is dedicated to promote and
preserve authentic Hungarian folk music in the United States and Canada.
They have performed at the New York Governor's Mansion, BAM, Library of
Congress, American Museum of Natural History, the Knitting Factory and
Epcott Center, and in cities all around North America. In addition, letfa
hosts a monthly Tanchaz (community dance event) in New York City. They
also play in dingy East Village bars and German pubs on the Upper East
Side. 

The basic setup of instruments in letfa are two violins, a souped-up
viola called a "kontra," bass, and a percussion instrument called the
"utogardon." The utogardon is a percussion instrument that is shaped
vaguely like a cello and has four strings all tuned to the note D. The
other instruments that letfa often plays include the trumpet violin, the
Hungarian hurdy gurdy, and the Jew's harp.

Megint Én vagyok, mert azt hiszem, hogy valamit elrontottam. Tehát kezdem előrő
l.                          Ács Imrének hívnak, és a barátommal elnyertünk egy 
Atlantai táborozási lehetőséget (gyerekfelügyelőnek megyünk). A tábor junius el
ején kezdődik, de mi megpróbálunk elöbb elmenni. Úgy tervezzuk, hogy ha találun
k valami segítséget akkor a tábor elött megállnánk és megnéznén a világ főváros
át. Május 24-28-ig tudnánk ott lenni.            Tehát a kérésem valahogy így h
angzik! Kérném azok segítségét akik NY-ban laknak és szívesen segítenének nekün
